OUR STORY

About Toogood Estate Winery

Rooted in the Sierra Foothills Since 2001

Toogood Estate Winery was established in May of 2001 on a breathtaking 40-acre parcel of rolling foothills in Somerset, California. Carefully selected for its diverse microclimates, the land offered ideal conditions for cultivating distinctive varietals and building something truly lasting.

A Legacy Continued

In December 2019, Toogood Estate Winery entered a new chapter when it was purchased by the Ron and Darin Mittelstaedt family of El Dorado Hills.

Timothy and his wife, Kayla, oversee on-site daily operations, each contributing their expertise to the experience guests enjoy today. Ron and Darin are frequently present on weekends, actively involved, and committed to continuing the vision that founder Paul Toogood began.

With strong business leadership and deep respect for the estate’s roots, the family remains focused on thoughtful growth while preserving the welcoming, community-driven spirit that defines Toogood.
